Success for two Unicademy graduates

New Model Adviser has named Scott Gurd and Greg Harris as two of the Top 35 financial planners in the country under 35. Both came up through the Unicademy programme, Unividual’s Chartered Financial Planner school. Greg Harris pictured left has worked for Unividual for five years and said: “It was an honour to be named as one of the UK’s Top 35 next generation of adviser so early into my career. The academy was created as a fast-track programme to take someone from having no industry experience to being the most highly-qualified and competent financial adviser in the industry. This just proves the success and impact it has had on my career.”

How are Unividual's Financial Planners different?

In choosing this year’s cohort, New Model Adviser paid particular attention to entrants whose achievements went far beyond just the certificates on their mantelpieces. Instead they focused on the impact a financial planner has on the clients they serve and on the businesses they work in.  Additionally, they focused on the volunteering successful entrants do in their communities. In an age where younger people are often attacked for not being well-rounded, these acts go some way to showing that Unividual’s people are bucking the trend.  Scott Gurd (pictured below) was selected for the support he provides to aspiring financial advisers in Unicademy. However, what really shone through was the quality of financial advice he provides to clients off the back of Scott Gurd‘s VouchedFor five star rating and being selected as one of the Top 100 advisers in the UK for VouchedFor. They also made particular note of the financial security he achieves for clients despite the unexpected that can happen in life, such as ill health or separation.

Greg Harris was selected for the significant amount of time he spends on nurturing the future generation of financial planners through work experience, interview practice sessions and guidance to local school children. His approach to financial advice was key, when looking at “what is financial planning?” Greg sees advice as for life, not just for people but businesses as well, of all generations. They liked his beliefs that everyone should have access to financial advice and Greg’s client demographic evidenced that. The quality of financial planning Greg offers to clients was seen through achieving client feedback on an independent review website and on his Facebook page.
