A bit about us and the role

Trainee Financial Adviser

Role: Permanent – Full Time Role – 8.30am start

Location: Bath Office, Upper Bristol Road

Salary: Up to £28,000 dependent on experience and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

Established in 2000, Unividual is a family-run business with offices in Bath and London. We have 6 financial advisers (and growing) with a total team size of 20. Five years ago we set up our own in-house financial training institution called Unicademy. This is a space where ambitious individuals can enter the industry and either progress their careers in financial advice, people management or down a technical route.  This role falls under the financial adviser route.

As part of this role, you will work as a paraplanner alongside a financial adviser, learning the back-office part of a financial adviser’s role. During this time, you will study towards your Advanced Diploma to eventually become Chartered and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.  All your qualifications and training will be funded by Unividual.

Upon becoming a financial planner you will have the support and training to run your own business within the Unividual financial advice framework.

What you can expect from the role

The financial advisers you will be working alongside will throw you in at the deep end so you can really learn how to be a financial planner. You will be:

  • Creating client review meeting analysis and presentation reports
  • Writing up financial suitability reports
  • Organising and prepare recommendations
  • Compiling financial cashflow forecasts
  • Analysing financial product comparisons
  • Assess current and future allocation of assets for investment strategy inline with the client’s risk profile
  • Implement financial planning strategies and make changes to clients’ products when instructed
  • Be the first point of contact for the adviser when they are out of the office
  • Attending client meetings to take minutes
  • Support the adviser with fact finds
  • Conduct client medical questionnaires
  • Respond to client enquiries and lead prospect enquiries on the phone
  • Work with everyone in the team to meet client needs and improve client outcomes
  • Control the quality of verbal and written communication from your team to clients
  • Represent the business at key meetings, networking events, industry conferences etc.
