Retirement Planning Associate

Aspire to specialise in the technical areas of retirement planning? Do you hold a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning? If you have experience of working in financial services and want to find a business where you can progress your career, Unividual are looking to hire a technically minded individual with a strong moral compass, bags of enthusiasm and a focus on learning and progressing themselves.

A bit about us and the role

Role: Permanent – Full Time Role – 8.30am start

Location: Bath Office, Upper Bristol Road

Salary: Up to £28,000 to start with

Established in 2000, Unividual is a family-run business with offices in Bath and London. We have 6 financial advisers (and growing) with a total team size of 20. Five years ago we set up our own in-house financial training institution called Unicademy. This is a space where ambitious individuals can enter the industry and either progress their careers in financial advice, people management or down a technical route.  This retirement planning role falls under the Technical Route:

Retirement Planning Associate > Senior Retirement Planning Associate > Retirement Planning Executive

As part of this role you will study further qualifications through the CII: Pension Transfers (AF7), Retirement Income Planning (AF8) and Pension Income Options. This will be funded by Unividual.

What you can expect from the role

You will be expected to become the “go-to” person within your team about Retirement Planning, keeping your knowledge up-to-date, communicating that knowledge with the business and to advisers by attending training workshops and industry conferences. All the while you will work in a paraplanning capacity alongside one of Unividual’s financial advisers who will mentor you to develop your career. An example of your duties will include:

  • Create client review meeting analysis and presentation reports
  • Write up financial suitability reports
  • Organise and prepare recommendations
  • Compile financial cashflow forecasts
  • Analyse product comparisons
  • Assess current and future allocation of assets for investment strategy inline with the client’s risk profile
  • Implement chosen retirement and investment strategies and make changes to clients’ investments as instructed
  • Aid financial adviser with the planning of specific financial areas in and around retirement planning.
