Bath's very own Financial Advice firm

Our Bath financial advisers, based in the heart of the city, are some of the best in the financial services sector. They make financial advice approachable and they pride themselves on not stereotyping people or putting them into cliché boxes. No matter whether you want a one off piece of advice, are keen to improve your financial independence or want a complete overhaul of your finances in every area, any of our financial planners & financial guides tailor advice to you, The Unividual Way.

We have offices across the country but our head office is in Bath at Sterling House, a large Georgian property in Bath’s city centre, no more than 15 minutes walk from the historic Roman Baths and Bath Spa train station. Bath actually has a large number of financial services businesses housed in the city from Novia, the main sponsors of Bath Rugby club, through to Hargreaves Lansdown, London and Country Mortgages and Seccl, who recently became part of Octopus Investments. Bath has great transport links, especially to our London Paddington office and has a strong pool of talented professionals fuelled by the University of Bath and Bath Spa University. Most of our financial planners in Bath graduated from Unicademy, our in-house Chartered Financial Planner training school. With a ten year lease on our offices, we are settled in for the long-haul. We are spread over four floors to give us plenty of working space, room for our staff to focus or relax and plenty of financial planning meeting rooms for our clients to feel comfortable in.

This can be arranged with your financial planner.

Our Bath Financial Advisers

We serve clients around the country and our team is happy to travel to meet clients in locations far and wide. Currently, the Bath office houses five financial planners. Four of those came through Unividual’s Chartered Financial Planner training school, Unicademy. They are Scott Gurd, Simon Hicks, Greg Harris and Simon Jones. Also resident is managing director and financial planner, John Baxter, with his team of financial planning assistants managed by Ruth Stainer. Our Bath office also houses Unividual’s operational support team, headed up by Marketing Director Cherie-Anne Baxter.

Our role in the city of Bath

We exist for Bath, it is in our DNA! Most of us went to school in Bath or came for university and never left. 90% of our Bath office lives in Bath and we pride ourselves on recruiting local people. This not only keeps our urban footprint down, as many of us walk or cycle to work, but it makes us a very Bath focused business. When you couple that with business leaders who instil and reward a culture of good karma and giving back to communities who need it, you get a very special business focused on the city rather than itself. Every year we grow, the contribution our business can give to Bath also grows. This is why people contact us from all over the city asking for our support because we now have a reputation of civic duty.

Financial Literacy in Bath's Schools

Hear from Kingswood School’s Head Teacher, Andrew Gordon-Brown

When our Year 13 students let me know they wanted to improve their financial literacy, Cherie-Anne Baxter and Greg Harris at Unividual were my go-to people. They have always been generous contributors to our wider community. On this occasion though I needed their years of experience so they could learn about payslips, pensions, mortgages, investment options. Our students appreciated Unividual’s contribution to their knowledge in these areas so much. Since then, we welcomed Unividual back for careers guidance programme, and we look forward to the coming summer term when we will build on the financial literacy education with our leavers of 2022. Sincere thanks to Unividual for their generosity and positive impact.”

Building financial wellbeing throughout Bath

Unividual has become the driving force behind wellbeing in Bath, both employee wellbeing but also financial wellbeing for all. Greg Harris and Cherie-Anne Baxter appear on Radio Bath every month to talk about money management and financial wellbeing. Unividual have also teamed up with the Bath Life Magazine to bring The Money Doctor to local residents. Bath and Wiltshire Parent Magazine also print Unividual’s financial education articles. If you want to educate yourself on money management we also offer everyone free financial planning guides.

Why Bath is so important to Unividual

Hear from one of our Director’s, Cherie-Anne Baxter, about why Bath is so important to Unividual:

“Quite simply, Unividual is working hard to better the lives of everyone around us. Why? Because me and my co-directors have instilled it into our culture. As business owners we currently invest every penny of profit back into the business to develop our young Bathonians into business leaders and give back to the community. We grow our own talent in-house to maintain our reputable service levels in what is traditionally a very sales-orientated industry. Year on year we grow at a rate that is right for our clients because service is the secret sauce to our success and if you grow too fast service drops. This means we are not one of the bigger firms in Bath YET. I am brave enough to say though that we put Bath on the map for finance and we are one of the most thought-provoking, progressive and caring companies in our city.”

Advising Bath's businesses

We are so proud of the Bath businesses that we work. One of these clients is Stonewood Builders:

“We have been working with Unividual for over four years. When we met the Bath financial advice team, our business was at a juncture, experiencing a good level of growth and exploring a broader approach to finances. Throughout our time working with Unividual they have provided first class financial advice, and a genuinely personalised and professional service. They take the time to fully understand our specific requirements, are meticulous in their preparations and communicate in a way everyone fully understands. We have enjoyed the approach Unividual employs to developing their team. Their appetite to invest in their people, to identify top talent and to provide training opportunities to them, is fully aligned with our own. It provides robustness to their high service standards now and for their planned growth. We are huge beneficiaries of this relationship, supporting our wider business strategies.

“When we look back over the hugely rewarding years that Stonewood have worked with Unividual we find it hard to believe how we ever managed without them. The quality and consistency of the advice we have received is matched by the enjoyment of the experience of working with a team who have made what I thought would be a tough journey into an easy and fun experience. We look forward to many more years together.”

Matt & Ben, Owners of Stonewood Group, 11th January 2022
